GreenGuardâ Insulation Board is Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) and features high compressive strength, high resistance to moisture absorption and excellent thermal performance. That makes it an excellent choice for use below grade as insulation and/or as a barrier to protect the applied waterproofing membrane from damage as backfilling is done.

Placing insulation on the foundation perimeter and/or below the slab provides thermal protection from freezing temperatures. The GreenGuardâ Insulation Board R-Value of 5.0 per inch of thickness makes it an excellent thermal insulator. GreenGuard® Insulation Board has low water absorption and retains R-Value over time.

GreenGuardâ Insulation can be used to insulate interior basement walls where a gypsum board or other fire-rated wallboard is used. (Check local codes.)

GreenGuardâ Square-Edge Insulation Board for foundation and basement use is available in thickness’ of 1", 1½ ", 2" and 3".
